The Location, part tres

We had a day out in Drumheller with our parents (+ Alanna) sorting out some wedding location issues. After trying for so long to talk to the people in Rosedale & see the hall we went and saw the Midland Hall in Drumheller. It's quite inexpensive and think it has potential for a good reception hall. It opens up onto a patio, which is a nice feature. It will take some decorating to get as we want it but we think it can be done. The locale around the hall is nicer than Rosedale as well we think, it is in a more residential area and has a nice park by it. Its right in Drumheller and closer to the hotel, which we booked some rooms in today. We've picked out the Super 8 as the best for rates, variety of rooms and willingness to work with us. We booked the apartment rooms & honeymoon suite for immeadiate family & we're going to recommend for guests. There are lots of accomodation options in Drumheller, actually.

The location of the ceremony is something we're still deliberating on. We've had our hearts set on an outdoor ceremony because we think nature is at the heart of our spirituality, but we're well aware that outdoor ceremonies can get difficult. Weather is the biggest factor. We'd have to have a back-up location. The place we'd really love, the little plateau by the Tyrrell, would not be a location suitable for a large group of people which would leave us with the difficult choice of seriously limiting the number of people at the actual ceremony (which we'd like to have videotaped & shown at the reception). This is something we'll have to work out in the coming weeks.
